Taking direction from the VP Operations, the Senior Atlassian Consultant, meeting all the requirements of this position, is responsible to contribute Atlassian expertise for implementation projects both internal and external. You will work with stakeholders to:

• Clearly uncover and document the business and subsequent system requirements
• Architect the best solution to meet the requirements
• Install and configure the Atlassian software and other complementary software
• Upgrade, configure, and customize Atlassian products and other complementary software
• Provide administration support to other stakeholders both internal and external
• Develop client processes, systems, and training documentation

The Senior Atlassian Consultant will be responsible for the development of solutions that satisfy our client’s business needs. This includes the design, implementation, and timely delivery of the solution to the client’s site in a team-centric way. The Senior Atlassian Consultant is expected to take on small to medium sized projects or work on larger projects as part of a team effort. All consultants are responsible for the adherence to standards, policies and procedures within their projects and through those assigned to those projects.

This position will have a progression of responsibilities based on the incumbent’s progression of demonstrated expertise as well as the attainment of minimum and additional certifications for our Systems Integration software partners (primarily Atlassian but others as well). The VP Operations will determine the match between the capabilities of the consultant against the requirements of the solution for each project.

Duties and responsibilities

• Senior-level Atlassian consulting subject to the skills and certifications of the incumbent. Any or all the following may apply.
• Attainment of a minimum of two technical Atlassian certifications as well as the associated Accreditations.
• Perform Atlassian Consulting tasks including but not limited to configuration of software solutions under the direction of the VP Operations or others as identified as part of an overall project plan.
• Architect solutions for RFP responses, estimate resource time allocations to tasks and contribute to the develop Statements of Work (SoWs) for services.
• Define and clarify project objectives, technologies, and specifications.
• Mentor junior and intermediate developers.
• Work closely with the sales and marketing team on new opportunities and product demonstrations.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop the project plan and charter and routinely update progress with Project Managers.
• Lead the delivery of contracted projects in accordance with client approved SoWs and project charters.
  • This includes project managing the execution to ensure adherence to estimate, schedule, and scope. At the Senior level, expected to take on small to medium sized projects independently and work towards the ability to lead large sized projects.
• Plan for and lead the development of all standards and procedures to be used to deliver the Atlassian services (i.e. templates for requirements, templates for configuration, environments for hosting services, etc.)
• Update designated client account prime of any potential opportunities from existing clients or other connections.
• Resolve client issues as they arise in collaboration with the client account prime.
• Participate in meetings with the Avant team as requested.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A university degree in the computer or business administration sciences, or a related discipline, preferably with a focus (major) in Information Technology.
• Complete familiarity with the Information Technology industry, and a working knowledge of software development, computer infrastructures, and project management methodologies.

• Working knowledge of the Atlassian suite of products and other integration partner products as they are acquired is a key requirement of the position.

Experience

• 5 – 8 years of experience as a developer and/or technical lead on I. T. projects with focus on Atlassian products.
• 1 – 2 years of experience in architecting I.T. solutions for enterprise clients.
  Experience in providing I. T. consulting services to clients would be an asset.

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements

• This position requires the ability to:
  • Maintain active customer and employee communication during working hours.
  • Access, input, and retrieve information from computer systems.
  • Enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system at a minimum of 50 words per minute.
  • Move about the office location in order to file, retrieve items, and locate staff.
  • Stoop and bend to file.
  • Answer telephone lines.
  • Travel to external locations both locally and out of town to meet with clients, vendors, and industry affiliates.

Lift and Carry Requirements

• Lifting and carrying office supplies weighing up to 10 pounds from desk to counter to cupboard.
• Lifting and carrying boxes of paper or files weighing up to 30 pounds a short distance in the office area.
