Our strategic aim for the architecture was to provide an early to market development environment
which allows operating costs to be minimised for both the development team and client deployments.
Open-source software with LPGL variable support programs offer the potential for lowering
development and support costs.
Relational database technologies supported include MySQL 5.0 and 5.1. Other database servers, such as
Oracle, can be incorporated to meet client infrastructure requirements.
We use GlassFish as the core technology in our proprietary applications. It is an open-source, enterprise-
quality, Java EE 5-compliant application server. Used in conjunction with MySQL it provides a very low
cost, efficient, and secure web development environment.
The flexible reporting infrastructure provides a collection of common reports with the ability to easily
integrate new custom reports. By using the JasperReports engine, a large variety of output formats are
supported, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PDF, etc. Professionally styled reports can be
created with the iReport design tool and can incorporate special Zamber property extensions that
enable a rich set of report input parameters from the Zamber user interface.
The Zamber framework can be used as part of a simple file based security system or as part of a
corporate security LDAP server based structure.
Zamber provides the ability to communicate directly with the target device via SNMP or TL1.
Additionally it can interface with secondary management tools that must be used when direct access to
the device is not an available option.
