| xDSL Profiler - Description |
AVANTs xDSL Profiler is a system for monitoring xDSL equipment and automatically
making adjustments to the xDSL parameters to achieve optimal performance. A set of
web-based interfaces can be used to report on historical DSL performance data as
well as obtain real-time data and apply real-time adjustments. The system thus provides
an effective customer-centric solution for maintaining a high quality of service and
simplifying the identification of any service issues that might occur.
The system can be divided into the following functional areas:
- Data Importing
Periodic import of DSLAM assignment data and customer data used to identify
xDSL ports that can be polled and the service types on those ports.
- xDSL Port Polling
Periodic polling of xDSL ports to obtain configuration
and performance data on a regular basis.
- Analysis
Periodic analysis of xDSL port data to identify port adjustments necessary
for optimal efficiency and to identify potential line card problems.
- xDSL Port Profiling
Adjustment of xDSL port profiles according to results obtained
from the port data analysis algorithm.
- Web User Interface
- Search for information based on DSLAM name or IP address along with the shelf, slot, and port numbers that uniquely identify a port.
- View xDSL port summary information, including the assigned customer and the port profile history.
- View historical xDSL port performance data.
- View historical DSLAM line card status by analyzing port initializations.
- View real-time xDSL port performance data.
